Sun Sea Style, South of France

We hear it often and we probably preach it often but we don’t do it as much. I’m talking about ‘seizing the moment. It is not everyday that I have the pleasure of strolling along the Mediterranean sea under a perfect blue sky and a person I adore, alongside me.

Last weekend we were in a beautiful spot in the South of France called Sète. Before dinner, we decided to take a walk along the canals, taking in the atmosphere. As it happened, the time was right to catch the beautiful evening light, just before sunset.

I spotted this rusty gold old boat. The evening sun was shining right at it, and I thought it might make interesting photography.  After a few clicks on the iPhone, we had a few images. There is something about the light, the way it captured the rusty gold on the boat and reflecting on my skin and the silk top.

Canal de Sète. Isn’t it a lovely view? Completely un-edited iPhone 5 captures.
My Outfit

As we had a to walk quite a bit to enjoy the city, I decided on a comfortable outfit but at the same time presentable for an evening look.

Silk camisole top – I love it.  It feels beautiful on the skin, thanks to satin and silk material. Tip – I like to pair it with a similar colour bra, that way it is not so obvious around the edges of the top.

Skinny Jeans – they might as well be trousers for that they are so stretchy and comfortable. The colour is just a perfect shade of rose pink, as the flower I photographed below. It fits perfectly around the waist and hips.

Sneakers – I must say I’m not a sneakers kind of girl but these are exceptional. Until recently, I never would have worn sneakers to go out. They are from a brand called Salamander, made of real leather and they are so well cushioned. I must admit that they are the most comfortable trendy sneakers ever.

Handbag – Across the body bags are super fashionable in France so I went with the trend.

Admittedly I am not a fashion blogger and I did not set out to do a photo shoot for my blog. These are just photos of the real me, randomly enjoying a cosy evening with my hubby. I just really loved the evening light and wanted to seize the moment in pics.

As you can guess, I am a simple and all about comfort kind of girl. What are your ‘out of town’ must-have items? Stay stylish.

  1. Dear Marie, loved the post.
You look amazing with those pastel colours, they are your colours for sure. The silk top is beyond perfect!!!
It’s good to know that you’re “real “if you know what I mean:)
    A big hug, Isabel.

    1. Thank you so much Isabel. The top was a gift from my husband, he insisted that the colour looks great on me, nice to know that others share the same opinion, (as he is biased of course!). I also like your lovely looks, surely a dose of style inspiration. Let’s hope for more sunny days.
